Bernie was Annie’s pet Dutch rabbit. When she started the company, Annie chose him to be our official “rabbit of approval,” representing the simplicity, care, and goodness in all of our products. Dear Friend, Soon after we met, my husband Rob and I started our small, organic vegetable farm in northeastern Connecticut. We planted half an acre of asparagus on former pasture land and slowly expanded every year. We use no chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides, instinctively knowing that the health of the soil and water is a priority. We compost, mulch, hoe, weed, and pick off foraging bugs. From the microorganisms in our soil, to the honey bees and butterflies pollinating, to the Purple Martins swooping for insects — all contribute to our organic practices.
